Balthazar

Style:
German, Fusion

More:

Reviews:
A reviewer on TopTable writes: "The Balthazar in Berlin was a lovely restaurant and the food was magnificent. The dress code was smart casual, but we felt a little under-dressed. The ambience was nice, but English restaurants now combine fine dining with a relaxed atmosphere, this as yet to be seen. We had the lobster meal and although every course was superb, the tastes were very similar, a difference in taste would have been prefered. overall an excellent experience, with pleasant staff and a very nice 40th birthday."

Fisherman's Restaurant

Style:
Guess what? It's a fish restaurant!

More:

Reviews:
The Berlin City Blog (in German) claims that this place is a "must" for fish lovers (they mean those who love fish on their plates). The location on the Tegel lake (Tegelsee) is ideal, and the chef is innovative.

Shiro i Shiro

Style:
Asian-Fusion

More:
Stylish and well designed restaurant with Asian-European fusion and celebrity factor. Priced accordingly. Located in the The Lux 11 Hotel (but you will not feel as if this is a hotel-restaurant).

Reviews:
Catherine Hickley writes an excellent review on Bloomberg's, summarising with 3/4 stars ("First-class of its kind"). She mentions, among others, the stylish design, the amazing sushi (and other fusion dishes), the celebrity factor (Judd Law, Mick Jagger and Sharone Stone, among others), and the good - but Berlin-slow - service. Read it and drawl.

Another review refers mostly to the design, in an article titled cool restaurants around the globe

Fischers Fritz is a high quality chef restaurant with two Michelin stars and 18/20 Gault Millau points.

Reviews:
Simon Kingsley, Variety, Jan 25 2008.
Another positive review, not 100% flattering given the prices, came up by Catherine Hickley at Bloomberg.com March 11, 2008
The
Webmoleskine blog writes: "While there's plenty of world cuisine in Berlin, few places offers such delicious fish and seafood as Fischers Fritz. The luxurious food - think sauté of rabbit, snails and gambas with artichokes and tarragon jus - is served in sumptuous historic surroundings of the Regent Berlin hotel."
