Renger Patzsch

Franco-German

More:
The new name of the former "Storch" restaurant

Reviews:
Out of Town Local says it was the best meal they've had in Berlin, and writes: "We made our way to the restaurant but it was under a new name. Renger-Patzsch had taken over Storch but was still serving the same type of food. The space was contemporary with old world touches and lots of original artwork and photographs. [...] We started with a Kir and then shared two appetizers. We had the house special Flammenküche which is a broiled tart with smoked ham, cheese, and onion and a roasted quail with pumpkin risotto. Been There user CityBreaker writes: "Local to Wittenbergplatz and, as the name suggests, a great place to eat from breakfast to dinner and later.

Vibrant decor in red and sort of mod with a bit of retro. Appetising and interesting meals served by very accommodating staff."

Stylish cafe, touted once as the most beautiful cafe in Berlin.

Reviews:
Rachel Nolan writes in the Boston Globe's article on Berlin's best brunches: "Its back room is styled as a fin-de-siècle salon, with shelves of leather-bound books, working candelabras, and wide circles of upholstered sofas. Brunch is drawn from the cafe's fairy-tale-themed breakfast menu, with "The Little Mermaid" assuring a spread of fresh lox and eggs with caviar. Classical music is normally piped in, but a pianist plays the baby grand live each Saturday."Nolan is a bit inaccurate regarding geographic location, though. It is easier to go to the KaDeWe department store than to Jagdschloss Gruenewald from there.

German Bistro with international dishes and fair prices

Reviews:
From Fodor's: "The back room is dressed with white tablecloths, but most regulars pick a place in the front, where there are art-nouveau light fixtures, stuccowork, and a street view. This is a relaxed bistro, meaning the service can be sluggish, but the consistently delicious meals are very reasonably priced. The menu has a mix of Italian, French, and German cooking and a kids' section. The only lackluster items are the thin-crust Alsatian pizzas (Pfannkuchen). The generous Vorspeisenteller (selection of five appetizers) might include bresaola (air-cured beef) over arugula, grilled vegetables, and shrimp tempura. The restaurant is near Winterfeldplatz."
