i Due Forni

Style:
Italian

More:
One of the best pizzas in Berlin, punk-pizza served by salon-anarchists.

Reviews:
I was pretty surprised I haven't reviewed i Due Forni before, given that it is one of our personal favourites in Berlin, despite its disadvantages. The pizza is good, and so is the atmosphere, but the daily dishes (written in unreadable Italian on the board) and the desserts are also great. The service is absolutely horrible.

Birge Amondson in About.com writes about this restaurant:
"
I Due Forni in Berlin is a hip and happening Italian restaurant cantina-style; it's not only famous for its delicious brick oven pizza, but also for its colorful decor and quirky staff.

I Due Forni - Pros

  • Best pizzas in town, fresh from the brick oven
  • Good prices
  • Staff speaks English
  • Big terrace and playground

I Due Forni - Cons

  • Always crowded; reservations recommended
  • Waiters can be short and snippy
  • Cash only
  • Menu is in Italian and German"

More: A nice neighbourhood Italian restaurant; good if you're in the God forsaken area it is in

Reviews:
Il Tramonto (The Sunset) is a neighburhood Italian restaurant, in an area, where there aren't many other restaurant. Food quality, according to a review of Il Tramonto (in German) on Qype, is good, and the service is cheerful. The prices are affordable and there is also a small bowling alley in the cellar.

More:
Hailed as a very good pizza with some minor celebrity factor (given the fact that some musicians stop here on their way to or from gigs)

Reviews:
A review at "Been There": "A beautiful Italian restaurant, with a very scenic view [...] It is a busy, but nevertheless charming restaurant which tends to attract younger people who like to enjoy genuine Italian cuisine. The menu is simple (antipasti, pasta, pizza, dolci), but everything [...] is of extraordinary quality and taste. Try the desserts and don't forget to make a reservation!"

Our additions: a very busy restaurant, sometimes the service is a bit slow and the waiters have correspondingly an attitude problem. Pizzas or pastas are very good, not totally excellent, though - a trattoria.
